Our alumni community reflects the rich history and continuing story of our school.

Former pupils of Box Hill School will always be Old Boxhillians, part of a worldwide community built over generations. As Box Hill School became RGS Surrey Hills and joined the Reigate Grammar School family, a new chapter began, with pupils now becoming part of the wider Reigatian community.

Whatever your connection to the school, we want you to remain part of its story.

We welcome former pupils, parents, staff, governors and trustees to stay in touch – to reconnect with old friends, share memories, hear news from the school and discover opportunities to get involved.

Old Boxhillians

Whether you left Box Hill last year or 50 years ago, your connection to the school remains important to us. We want to celebrate the people, friendships and experiences that have shaped Box Hill over the years, while keeping Old Boxhillians connected with the school as it moves forward.

A new generation of Reigatians

Today, pupils at RGS Surrey Hills are part of the wider Reigate Grammar School community and will join the growing network of Reigatians when they leave.

Together, these communities represent both the heritage of Box Hill School and the future of RGS Surrey Hills.

Film from the 1960s

When Nick Price (1962 – 1966) was at School, back in the 1960s, it was a far cry from the place it is today.

“People forget what life was like after the ‘50s, when the country was still trying to find its feet after the Second World War. Even in the ‘60s, we were still coming out of the doldrums.”

Nick’s real highlight of life at Box Hill School was acting as camera man on a 30-minute film of life at the school, entitled ‘Yet Another School.’

Together with Anne Pearson and David Korn, the trio put together a fairly accurate record of what school was like back then. Today’s students would probably be horrified! Originally recorded on 8mm film reel, Nick has recently had the film put onto a DVD – and it is a remarkable record of life in the early days of Box Hill School.
