About RGS Surrey Hills RGS Surrey Hills is a welcoming co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11 to 18. With around 400 students, we are a small, inclusive school with a global outlook.
As part of the RGS family of schools, and with a proud heritage as Box Hill School, we combine strong academic foundations with a deep commitment to personal growth and wellbeing. We believe in educating the whole person. Our holistic approach means that while academic achievement is important, we also place a strong emphasis on character development, creativity, confidence, and compassion.

skills, and grow in confidence and character. With a wide range of clubs, activities, and societies, from sport, music, and drama to coding, debating, and outdoor pursuits, there is something to spark every interest.
As a Round Square school, we encourage pupils to embrace adventure, service, leadership, and internationalism, with opportunities such as global exchanges, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and community engagement. Our smaller school size means we get to know every pupil individually. This allows us to support their development in a truly personal way, whether nurturing a talent, encouraging a new interest, or helping them step out of their comfort zone.
