A New Era for School Sport in Partnership with the Chelsea FC
Reigate Grammar School and RGS Surrey Hills have joined forces with Chelsea FC in a major new partnership that brings high-performance coaching, leadership opportunities, and unique access to Chelsea’s facilities and resources to students across both schools.
This exciting collaboration marks a new era in school sport and establishes us as Chelsea FC’s flagship partner schools in the UK’s South East – the only schools in the region to achieve this status.
From January 2026, pupils from Year 7 to Sixth Form, boys and girls of all abilities, will take part in weekly coaching sessions led by Chelsea’s professional staff. These will be fully integrated into the school day as part of our inclusive Games programme.
The Pathway
Years 7–8: Termly block of coaching sessions with Chelsea FC coaches, enhancing our current talent development programme.
Years 9–10: Match play development session lead by Chelsea FC coaches, offering high-level coaching with a match play focus.
Years 11–13: High-level, performance-focused programme led by the Chelsea FC, offering our boys’ and girls’ 1st XI teams aspirational training and the potential for regional and international exposure through representative teams.

All RGS Surrey Hills pupils aged 11–18 are eligible to join the Football Development Pathway.
Do pupils need football experience?
No. The programme supports every level, from beginner to advanced player.
How does it fit within school life?
Training takes place during Games and co-curricular sessions, ensuring balance with academic studies.
Are there opportunities for boys and girls?
Yes. Equal opportunities for boys and girls are central to the programme.
