Educated at Reigate Grammar School and King’s College London, Mr Elsey is a senior consultant at the international law firm Ashurst LP, having recently stepped down after 30 years as a partner. He specialises in the development and financing of large-scale infrastructure projects and headed Ashurst’s global Energy and Infrastructure department for 12 years.
Mr Elsey’s family connections with the Reigate Grammar School are extensive: Mr Elsey met his wife, Mrs Jacqueline Elsey, while at RGS; his father and father-in-law both attended the school as did his son and daughter. Mr Elsey is a member of Old Reigatian RFC and of Tandridge and Betchworth Golf Clubs.
Mark joined the Board of Governors of Reigate Grammar School in 2012 and was appointed Chair at the end of 2021.
