RGS Surrey Hills is delighted to welcome Jason Roy as Cricket Consultant, working with pupils and staff as part of the wider RGS family of schools.
A 2019 ODI World Cup winner and England international, Jason brings first-hand insight into elite performance, professional sport and the mindset required to succeed at the highest level.
The Headmaster of Reigate Grammar School said: “Jason’s appointment is an exciting step for RGS and our wider family of schools. He brings a thoughtful perspective on elite performance and preparation, but also a strong understanding of the role sport plays in developing character. This partnership aligns closely with our ethos of inspiring young people to aim high while enjoying the journey.”
Through mentoring sessions, Q&As and collaboration with our Sports Department, pupils at RGS Surrey Hills will gain direct access to his experience – not simply as an elite athlete, but as someone who understands the discipline, resilience and character that underpin sustained success.
This partnership strengthens our cricket programme while reinforcing our broader commitment to developing confident, capable young people. Sport at RGS Surrey Hills is about more than performance; it is about teamwork, ambition and personal growth. As someone who grew up locally and began his cricket journey in this area, Jason’s involvement carries a meaningful connection to our community.
Jason Roy commented: “I grew up in Reigate and played cricket locally as a boy, so this partnership feels especially meaningful to me. I’m looking forward to supporting students and staff and sharing the experiences that shaped my own.”
We look forward to the impact his expertise and guidance will have on our pupils in the months ahead.
